Deverell Hall Preschool in Purbrook seek to provide first class childcare facilities and preschool learning for parents looking for a placement in the Purbrook and Waterlooville areas. We provide a safe and stimulating environment in which children can mix and learn. Our teaching staff are highly trained and motivated individuals whose aim is to help your child get the most from their early preschool education and at the same time, enjoy and look forward to going to preschool.
Our local preschool offers a secure environment where your child can broaden their horizons through a variety of fun, and challenging activities. We provide continuous play both indoors and outside with a varied selection of resources, equipment and age-appropriate developmental toys.
We understand the need to work in partnership with parents and carers to help children learn and develop, and be prepared for mainstream school life.
About Our School
We are not a private establishment and therefore not driven by profit. We operate as a registered charity, governed by a Parent Management Committee.
Our Manager is both experienced and professional and together with our staff team we have run a very successful child care setting for over 50 years.
2027 will mark a very important anniversary for our school when in that year we will have been established for 60 years!

Parent Management Committee
Deverell Hall Pre School is managed by a Parent Management Committee which consists of parents attached to the Pre School. They work in partnership with our Manager who is professionally qualified and together they meet three times a year and discuss policies; pre school matters; staff movements etc.
Without a Committee the Pre School would be at risk of closing so our Manager seeks out those parents who are able to give up their time to help when needed. Our committee requires a Chairperson / Secretary / Treasurer and ordinary members.

- To build on and promote children's social, intellectual and physical development through play and structured activities, thereby preparing them for a smooth transition from preschool to mainstream school

- To work within the guidelines of the Early Years Foundation Stage
- To follow the guidelines and requirements of the registering bodies
- To work as partners with parents and/or carers and offer flexibility that allows each childs individual needs to be met
- To make parents and/or carers feel welcome, and provide an atmosphere where both children and adults feel happy and comfortable
- To be approachable by children and parents alike, and to be caring, understanding and compassionate to each individuals circumstances
